Enhancing 1605b: Key Documents and Links

During 2003, the Department of Energy developed revised guidelines for utilities, manufacturers and other entities that wish to voluntarily report their greenhouse gas emission and/or emission reductions to DOE under authorities established by section 1605(b) of the Energy Policy Act. A proposed revision of the General Guidelines for the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases (1605b) Program was released for public comment on November 26, 2003, and published in the Federal Register on December 5. The comment period on this proposed revision was extended to February 17, 2004.

Proposed Revised General Guidelines

On December 5, 2003, DOE published in the Federal Register proposed revised General Guidelines for the voluntary reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and emission reductions under section 1605(b) of the Energy Policy Act. The following documents provide information on this proposal:
